it's not entirely bollox. it's telling you that your main hard drive is nearly full which will cause your os to get cranky. you generally want 10% of your hard drive free for your os to tick along happily. delete some shit or let ccleaner do it for you - note will destroy cookies and upset passwords.

i've had a few people look at my computer, they've all said the same thing: they can't understand why it won't let me download anything. i've deleted almost everything i had on here, including my music, but i still get a critical disk space message at least twice a day. no matter what i remove or uninstall, it just doesn't change.

just a thought ,but if you've never performed this it could well be the cache memory that is taking what seems like space from your hard drive. You can delete cache from the beginning when windows was installed.I have a hunch this is full....I maybe off target ,not sure.Either way it will do it good, even if it doesn't solve it.
edit:failing that-re-install windows... can easily be guided through that. That sorts everything :)

I am "auxilliary techie" at work. I dread the days our network admin doesn't come in.

exactly so. simply sigh and ask if they've tried switching it off and on again yet. then mumble incoherently and wander off. works every time.
