It's not rocket science

but that does sound a bit like rocket science...:D

Rocket science, to my mind, is essentially just Newton's laws of motion, with a bit of thermodynamics chucked in.
Rocket engineering on the other hand, is where it gets interesting.

If someone says to me (who straight away I think is a cunt) 'It's not rocket science' I patiently explain that, actually, rocket science is dead easy, it's all mass and thrust (ooh er) and suggest to them that next time they want to point out that something is not as complicated as something that is complicated, they use they phrase 'It's not quantum electrodynamics'.

rocket science is 'dead easy'!
Fucking priceless - thanks for that.

Try quantum chromodynamics, that's a bit nastier

i don't need anything nastier thanks
though there used to be a big christian science library up the road from where i lived in portsmouth. i was always tempted to go in, but i was scared of being attacked or brainwashed. or both.

acceleration = force / mass
This IS rocket science (if you're not travelling at a significant fraction of c)
Look carefully at my original statement, and I think you'll see that I'm still right.
:P

for my previous job, my boss began with the sentence: "You know the phrase 'It isn't rocket science', well; a lot of this job actually is." It made me smile at the time. It wasn't true of course, the job appeared to mainly consist of going to meetings to discuss meetings and then sitting around in the canteen. But I did get to play with some helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. \o/
