are these done in Bryce?...Had a dabble once.....seem to remember a similar function for making terrain from a black and white image(early version)

You can do it in Bryce, just have to do the steps by hand to set it all up.

not for this sort of thing! I heard someon trying to use Blender for video editing recently! Pfft! They'll be using it as a spreadsheet next!
