The answer to all your questions is, It depends.It depends on who reads the posts, their attitudes, and whether they can be arsed to publish them. The site owners have safeguards to prevent us being overrun with spam but if a regular member wants to post an ad for a book then it will and should be commented on just like any other work presented to us on here. I think, 'got hounded off the site' is a little strong. Only mods can ban and as far as I know this person was not banned, therefore left voluntarily. Oh and you state that your criticism of our behaviour applies to /talk and QOTW. So why do you direct it at /board and not mention it on the other two?

I wasn't criticising anyone, I was merely making an observation and was wondering why there was such a vast difference between two so seemingly similar events.
I was a little drunk when I made the original post and there may have been an element of being a cock involved, for which I apologise.
