I don't think I fancy The Web Architect's Handbook (1996).

# The Atrocity Archive is an excellent start.
It's about a computational demonologist who begins fieldwork for an offshoot of the SOE and has to deal with something unpleasant in Amsterdam.
Kind of Ian Fleming meets H P Lovecraft with large doses of cynicism and sarcasm.

actually I'll have a butchers at that. Big fan of short stories me. The Door in the Wall by HG Wells .. ace. Would you class Heart of Darkness as a novella though?
