(So did Colin Baker, although all that came across was a permanent air of panic.) Eccleston seems to have extended that idea into 'Doctor Who is a grumpy old sod'. With Capaldi, I expect an exploration of 'what if Doctor Who turned out to actually be Alastair Campbell?'
