I think it was around the time that everyone accused everyone else of being an attention seeker
I mean if you're going to take the time to make a picture and post it on a messageboard then you're probably hoping for some level of attention
I'm not trying to remove myself from this, I probably played a part

It's been a slow decline over the last 7 years
a lot of new social media outlets have appeared to distract people and internet 2.0 bubbles where creatives felt there was a point in posting shit on the internet have burst.
Thankfully a few of us keep waving the shitty flag as a beacon to others should they consider returning and posting a picture of a kitten on a spacehopper or somesuch

I blame Rob's lack of interest in the place.
Sure, he might get more advertising revenue from his other projects, but it wouldn't hurt for him to liven the place up a bit from time to time.
I still maintain that the 2-image-challenge-per-week idea would help (1st choice idea runs all week, 2nd choice gets three days starting on the Monday).

Must agree Colonel
Some of the recent challenges have been a bit samey, and for someone like me who doesn't have the skills, it can be a struggle to even come up with something that will generate at least a comment. Looking at the archives, there used to be a few spontaneous challenges that were popular. Smash Monkey's blind drawing challenges always draw a good few entries ;)
