# I'll confess
that I always enjoyed the Texas fruitcake my Uncle used to send, and that I do love marzipan and dark chocolate, but the twain have never met...in my experience.

# Do you not have simnel cake?
Traditional Easter cake - a rich fruit cake, with marzipan covering, decorated with marzipan balls (which represent the disciples, I think).
I didn't make one this year, admittedly, but it is very nice so long as you make your own almond paste, rather than relying on shop-bought marzipan.
If you're ever in England around Easter, I'll make one and give you a slice (that's an easy promise to make).
