this may well be a very amusing entry in this week's, ever-popular image challengebut i tend to think that rather than actually advertising a product, you have merely presented one as representative of the range of products designed to appeal to fathers. thus, having contravened the exacting rules and, may i suggest, the spirit of the competition, it should be, (option 2), shunned.

You make a poignant point but......could one not also postulate that an item's packaging is, in fact, the ultimate advertisement for itself? The very lure that entices a passing pundit to purchase.
