# Any resources for making pixel art and video game sprites?

I have a week of time and I'd like to make a side scroller. I've downloaded unity so that's my editor of choice. I know nothing of making graphics for games though! I do have experience in 3D modelling, texturing, lighting etc and compositing but I want to start simply.

# if you want to start simply
do the style of graphics you're already familiar with instead of trying to learn pixel art. it's bloody hard trying to get as much detail as possible into a tiny sprite with minimal palette and animation frames

you can probably make a decent game in a week from nothing by using premade or your own style of graphics, but I doubt it would be enough time to get up to speed on pixel art

# Thanks. I'll just do what I always do and wander in blindly going 'this is difficult' whilst inching ever forwards

# Back in the day,
the first step to creating sprites was to write your own sprite editor...

# This sounds like it might have been a fun challenge. I mean you learn how everything works at a base level

# Have you tried Piskel?

# I found that this morning
For a side project I thought it was pretty darn good.
