Sounds like an accusation of liberal bigotry, which takes me back to the beforetimes... I think it was one of Peter Hitchens's rhetorical sticks. I never knew if he was having a laugh or not. Intolerance of intolerance is, IMHO, self evidently not 'as bad' or even the same as tolerance of intolerance. Tolerance of intolerance validates intolerance with undue credibility, and empowers the intolerant to keep pushing back the boundaries.
I tolerate everything that it's polite to (e.g. your bad jokes, bad breath, bad spelling, your charmless, ugly wife and badly behaved, spoilt children, your harmlessly wrong beliefs/opinions, your terrible taste in clothes, decorating, music, etc.). But your harmful beliefs and actions are not granted the same courtesy.
We can freely discuss what is and isn't harmful, as that is exactly how such cultural values are determined.
