I don't see the Google problem...
It's just their advertising policy... it's not like their censoring their search results:

it has to be said, I was suprised
at the idea of placing ad's to get traffic to a blog, aside from anything else - I don't know anyone that's ever done that. If it's any good, people will find it. (I know that wasn't your point, but hey, I'm tired!)

Agreed
That was the other point I was too tired to make...

Good trip away?
it looks ace - some of those pics are amazing.
why'd you yell at people - what've they done? Whatever - you'll be ok, things'll settle down, surely...

ooops
the other way round... they yelled at me... or more to the point took me out for a talk. They want me to do more corporate blah and im going off the rails on longshots. (they kind of seem to be working though)

hmm... being more corporate is an arse -
but if it pays the bills and means you get to do good stuff out of 9-5 it'll be ok for a bit maybe? (hmm, no principles me - anything for a quiet life really).

it's a contentious issue though
pretty much every site has some opinion on it, implicit or otherwise. though having said that, advertising your personal blog on google is incredibly egocentric, no matter who you are.
