oooh, can you convince tomsk of that?
he's a bit html hardcore at the moment and it's really annoying - he spends forever pootling away on the computer in the evenings and he gets terribly frustrated at trying to make things work and look exactly the same in all browsers ever invented...

it's down to the priority of goals
ask yourself, "Is the challenge to make something that works on every browser, or do I wish to engage people?" They are not mutually exclusive, but picking technology over engagement will limit the appeal of your work.

I've also learnt that making
interactive games in server-side DHTML is not worth it because its too slow...
Never mind, I'm still proud of Web Minesweeper :)
