# If you really cant afford food
see student services/welfare officer they will have an emergancy loan/grant proceedure which will require financial details from yourself but will give you money - sometimes you wont even have to give it back.

@In short -I havent got any money but I'm sorry you havent got a sandwich
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:50, archived)
# they do, but its a loan, a normal type one
so i will end up further in debt, and i cant afford that
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:52, archived)
# blimey that a bit of a bugger

# there probably wiull be somewhere but you're right about the kids thing
try looking for medical trials - I know there is a place in london that will pay for you to test stuff

It's how Robert Rodreguez got come of his money for El Mariarchi
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:00, archived)
# I did one of them
£1250 for sitting around for 4 weeks and getting blood taken every so often.
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:03, archived)
# they
don't pay you for that in this country. They want BLOOD! And they want it free too, which sucks.
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:55, archived)
# On the plus side
I came out of the blood donor's place feeling slightly funky and feeling like I'd help save someone's life. Possibly. All because I wanted to.
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:56, archived)
# get pissed cheaper
and a feeling of self righteousness

Fantastic
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:57, archived)
# very true.
well done.
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:58, archived)
# they don't usually pay for whole blood here
but they do for plasma

I've considered it, but I'm a bit wary since they take the blood out of your body and put it back in. That scares me
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:57, archived)
# what do you get for
semi-skimmed?
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:58, archived)
# don't know
that's the point though, they take it out and skim out the part they want and put it back
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:59, archived)
# eeeeeeeeeeeeeep
and here was me just making a bad milk pun
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:01, archived)
# it scares me
but you do get money...
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:03, archived)
# I did a medical trial
they weren't allowed to pay me the 50 quid that they give to the controls as

"It might encourage me to have bipolar disorder"

I'm pretty certain I didn't develope this for 50 quid
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:05, archived)
# develop what?
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:07, archived)
# bipolar disorder
but on the plus side I did get a copy of the mri scan mmmmmm gray blobbyness
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:09, archived)
# hehehe :)
I'd quite like to be paid to do medical study things. They sound easy
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:11, archived)
# this involved a free trip to edinburgh for me and a mate
and all I had to do was lie in a scanner for an hour and a half - it was a bit like being in side a dot matrix printer - fantastic stuff
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:13, archived)
# I had an mri done on my knee once
:)
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 4:15, archived)
# I'd send you some but
with the exchange rate you'd be lucky to buy a kebab even if I sent 100 Australian rupea, and you'd have died of starvation before it got there.
(, Fri 31 Oct 2003, 3:57, archived)
# anything is helpfull
send away :)
