(2^(1))/(2^(1/2))
=
2/(2^(1/2))
=
(2x2^(2.5))/(2^(1/2)x2^(2.5))
=
(2^(2.5))/(2^(3))
=
2^(2.5) x 2(-3)
=
2^(-1/2)

Therefore 2^(1/2) = 1/(2^(1/2))
