# According to 'Should We Be Laughing' on Radio 4 (couple of weeks back, I believe)
the Ministry of Silly Walks sketch was in very poor taste and mocked the disabled, so we shouldn't really be laughing about it.

the sketch supposedly came about because one of the Python'ers (I forget which) lived near a very, very steep hill, and they saw someone walking up the hill at almost a 90 degree angle to the ground, but. . . diagonally. So they crossed that idea with the idea that beaurocracy has gotten way out of control. . .

Then again, some group or another usually find something offensive in anything. And they're usually twats for doing so.

the presenter had cerebral palsy (which made for slightly uncomfortable listening, I'm ashamed to admit). She might also have been in Grange Hill at some point.
