If my memory serves me correct(which it almost certainly doesn't), it's basically tag, where if you're caught you have to stand still until someone else taps you on the shoulder.

if you ever want to play...it was a bit pervy really... esp for boys. you got 'tigged' (tug? tag? tagged?) and you had to stand still... but with your legs apart so they crawled under. those were the innocent days.
