my mum used to buy me glue-on shakey eyeslike cheap fluffy toys have sometimes (you know, those little balls of fluff with a tag saying 'I heart Cornwall' or similar). I used to glue them on pebbles and twigs. she couldn't work out why i thought that pebbles and twigs were nicer than -say- cuddly toys.

i loved the "pet log" idea.my parents (quite rightly) made me construct my own, rather than purchase one for a fiver.
