Recognition:

The Red Spider mite is 0.75mm long with an oval body. Their colour is of ten darkened, olive green or rusty brown. Despite their glorious red appearance the red spider mite feeds on plants only when they haven?t fed for a period maybe from migrating into a home they turn into a dirty brown colour.

Biology:

Clover mites are active during the mild summer days when they can enter buildings structures in enormous numbers invasion is typically through cracks around windows and doors or through masonry cracks. These mites will leave a reddish spot/smear /stain if crushed. This can cause problems on wallpaper, curtains and furniture etc. An 18? grass free strip around the perimeter of a property can reduce the number of invaders by around 90%.
