It's okay outing Atkinson as a rascist but when the joke against Atkinson become racist within itself then you are no longer lampooning Ron Atkinson but continuing a stereotypical racist ideology. The joke would have worked better with out the 'N' word. - once again I empathise that it's only in my humble opinion, no unfluffiness intended =)

And I'm not offended by your picture, but it can be easily found offensive from anybody suffering blatant racism. On b3ta there is a lot of use of Hitler and swastikas etc. for Jewish people this could be seen as offensive no matter what context the joke is put into. But then again it's all down to how you take things, in a post modern world we are steeped in the irony of modern life and therefore people are learning not to be offended and in some small way the truly offensive people are becoming fewer.

Yes he used a derogatory term, but it doesn't mean he is racist. Its like calling someone a fat-bastard in an argument, that doesn't mean you have a thing against fat people.
