of a virus or worm or something that would:
a) cause ms paint to crash every time i hit 'save' or 'save as' (damnation, i just did a nice little piccy!)
b) cause my internet pages to freeze all the time
and c) stop taskmanager from opening?
I'M GOING CRAZY.

it stays open. i think mr.big is right. it's just relaly annoying as i haven't been able to save any drawings for a week. damnation.

start - all programs - accessories - system tools - disk defragmenter - defragment (don't bother analysing it)
You should go offline, close all programs and it will take anything from 2 to 10 minutes - the longer it takes, the more spazzed your drive was.
I do it once a week, and it seems to keep everything flowing freely
