Reminds me of Sean Hillen's Irelantis series, all done with a microscope and scalpel

they're all from old postcards, pages he's ripped from magazines, etc. When you see the real, physical artworks, it's incredible how 'layered' they are. In some of the scanned versions, you can just about see the roughness.
