shadows increase in size the further away from the sun you are,
hence a big shadow for moon, tiny shadow for us in comparison.
i had to think bout it too :)

i do believe you are correct.... it would explain why when i stand atop a bridge and my shadow casts down on the ground below it looks as though i am a giant...
i am actually a giant though, now that i think about it

the distance between you and the thing you are casting the shadow on has more of an effect than getting 6 ft nearer the sun, though but..
