if you walked into a bar and said 'a beer please' in whatever language
zone you where in (you learn the basics!) you got a Stella, for the
equivalent of about a pound a pint! This was about 8 years ago though,
but still, makes me laugh that it's considered 'posh' here!

i have lots of european friends and they laugh at our prices, and think the beer we sell from their countries tastes like piss.

Once we got a job in Woolworths in London, I warned EVERYONE to
stock up on beer and smokes (they ALL smoked!) but they all were
derisive in a 'you English and your stupid obsessions' way. Then at the
end of the first working day, they were HORRIFIED when they went to
some cigs out of a pub machine, then DISGUSTED by the beer, then the
bar closed!! I sat there smiling saying 'Well, I DID warn you' smugly! :D

More hassle, more mess, but 500x tastier and much more satisfying as you can experiment more. Just made my third batch of 'Biohazard' honey beer. mmm,
