

this is one of the pics i've saved, none of my 8 month old son though

this is my second hd in this lappy, it was bsod every reboot, wouldn't start, hung like a gibbon, but it has been fine for 6 days since we haven't switched it off.
can sections of a hd be damaged? but you can still run on the good bits?

yes, as long as system files haven't been damaged. Try running a chkdisk on it...
open a command prompt and type chkdsk and let it run.

i'm to scared to turn it off, that's the problem, now it's working again, i know if i turn it off it may take 40 reboots to get it back to a decent bit of hd
