apart from

going to dell(where you'll get a good deal and a nice pc) I suggest making it yourself. Way cheaper.

I'd recommend anyone thinking of getting a new PC to build it themselves - out of eggs and carpet fluff if possible.

I'm not sure it is that much cheaper.
It is cheaper than getting ripped-off at Currys, but there are plenty of cheap PC builders.
I wouldn't recommend building your own PC to someone who doesn't have any experience with hardware.
I know it isn't that difficult, but if you hit a problem, a novice wouldn't know how to sort it out.
