# surely seeing as you created it you already hold the right to the image.

i seem to remember one of SE's pictures being used on internutter and him giving then a ticking off.

if they are using material created by you without seeking proper permission then they should find themselves in a liable position.

# really?
They've just gone inside as they were painting it outside...

# was it your artwork

# hello lawyers.

i've a case for you.

# I'm doing it out
Of principle:

If they think they can get away with it then what to stop them from stealing of you your work?!?!?

I'm doing this for B3ta and our hardwork that deserves beer tokens.

# maybe it's less of a corporate or
organizational action. Maybe someone said "we need a mural" and the girl that you mentioned found (stole) that, without saying that she didn't make it.

# Yeah we need photographs!

# yep

i suggest going and having a word.

you have the original files still i take it?

a friendly word and an out of court settlement should do it.

# Wait 'til they actually use it for something big.
Then hit them for more money.

# some girls
were just painting them as I was walking ready to go into my office down the road. NO JOKE.

fate is on my side, I don't think you can get luckier than that. I've got a picture of the girl and the studio entrance too.

# I work with Ad agencies a lot ....
and B3ta is well known as a good source of material.

As soon as you create anything it is already copyright material owned by you, however, be aware that if you wanted to get shitty with them, they could question all sorts of things, i.e. did YOU have all relevant permissions.
Also, If you took 'em to court, you have to be able to prove how much out of pocket you are, which believe me is bastard difficult.

Why not nip over and see the boss at their office, and suggest firing the bint who nicked your work and sub-contracting out to you:)
(, Thu 22 Sep 2005, 17:40, archived)
# well bollocks to it then

but your second idea is brilliant - go on Donkey Gums - turn the tables and get them to PAY YOU!
(, Thu 22 Sep 2005, 17:43, archived)
# idea
that's exactly what i'm going to do...lucky man me, i think fate is on my side, I mean, what are the chances that i'd walk past as they were doing that?!?!?!
(, Thu 22 Sep 2005, 17:49, archived)
# On the other hand...
you could keep yourself awake tonight wondering how many times they ripped your stuff off and you didn't walk past..........
