I was wondering about reposting
some people gave me a hard time cos I posted a pic once in the evening then again the following morning and nearly all the same people cmplained that means you must get people who spend thier entire time on this site! I just come here a few times a day and have a quick scroll down but people get really angry about it, I think its a bit petty

you need to be more considerate for other though. Reposting in a new thread isn't good.

if you delete the old offending thread who cares???
and I was only reposting because some people said they couldnt see the image just a photobucket sign

erm, people obviously 'care' as they wouldnt keep having a go at you for reposting!
And the fact you get arsey about it just shows that you don't give a shit about actually being a part of b3ta.

Yeah, it's this more than anything.
I might personally think it's a bit fucking stupid that I have to take my shoes off in those Chinese paper houses or whatever, but I'd still do it if they wanted me to (and I wanted to be liked by them) so that I wasn't just being a selfish cunt and ignoring their quirky rules.

There seems to be an entire set of rules that not everyone gets straight away
it can be confusing

it's really not hard - the 2 main rules are
1. make your pics around 50kb
2. Don't repost in a new thread (for whatever reason, unless its perhaps suitable for a new compo)
it really is that simple.

I can appreciate that
but that's why we have an FAQ to read before you start posting. :)

yeah, you deserve complaints
you've reposted one image at least 3 times in the past.
if no one likes (or comments on) the image the first time, then just assume that its not that popular. and if you really wanna repost it just stick it in an existing thread, really its not that bloody hard.
what really bugs me is people complaining about being flamed for pearoasting, cos it obviously shows you havent really read or understood the FAQ, which is second only to the bible in its importance
/boredatworkrant
edit: haha i just went through all of your previous posts to get an example of your blatant ham-touchery and i've noticed that all your previous efforts have exceeded their bandwidth. this makes me happy and means less chuffin pearoasting from you in future

The only reason people get angry
is because every time a new thread is made, someones work gets pushed off the board. Fair enough if it's a new picture. If you want people to see your pictures again then post it in an existing thread.
(But don't forget to woo the thread you're reposting in)

what cocking difference does it make anyway
new thread old thread ..?? pah - if there is a good reason id be happy to be educated

because the board only allows 15 new posts to be on the page at once.
If its reposted in a new thread, it is pushing an exisintg thread off the bottom, whereas if it's reposted in an existing thread, it will not push anything off the bottom (just make the page a bit longer)

but if delete the old thread its still the same
amount of pics on the board

yes, but it's not fair on others
imagine if people kept deleting their pics and posting them again just so they were at the top of the board... it would get pretty shit very quickly.

yaeh but I that was not my intention
just wanted people to see the pic!

or just wait till the board is busier to post it in the first
place, rather than postin it stupidly late at night, then wonderin why you get little or no responses

That's fair enough mate.
Just wait until a thread is started that has something to do with the pic you've made (even if it's a pretty tenuous link! :) ) and repost it in that thread. People will still comment on it if they like it. :)

Why not just not do it?
It's easier than having these huge debates, and, not to sound harsh, the rules were here before any of us, so we just stick to 'em.

I guess it doesn't matter so much at 2am when the boards quiet, but during the day when it's busy it's a bit annoying to get pushed off by something everyones already seen.

goooood i was hoping there would be a reason and that one seems to be good enough - ta mugatu

For you it was evening and morning. For others, it was morning and evening of the same working day, perhaps they only spend 30 minutes at the start and end of their working day, but since you were on at the same times as them, it's a bit hypocritical to criticise.
And then some people put the RSS feed on their desktop :-)
Starting a new thread with a weak post of any kind is discouraged, since it knocks another thread off the end of the board. That applies to reposts, unfunny links, non-pic posts, whatever... anything that just doesn't merit its own thread. Reposting as a reply is a lot more tolerated.
