I know what you mean only too well - its far too easy to be 'lazy' with a compo like this, there is a lot of good new stuff, but initially its like 'repost' heaven

Maybe the competition idea is just inspiration. The entries do tend to get better as the week goes on and people think a bit more cleverly about their entries.
