# Why half an hour?
They could be an egregious arse for a day and then get 'stepped', go get a cup of tea then come back and do it again.

Anything longer than that - we might as well just ban them properly.

EDIT: And about walking away... People remain on the step until they've pressed the button saying they'll behave. So they'll know they've been stepped, regardless of whether they're around or not.
