harmless, and it's true that whilst they're in their natural home in Finland, they are. But their size depends on the temperature of their habitat, and once you introduce them into temperate climates, they grow to gargantuan proportions and wreak havoc all around.
Parts of the Mid-west of America now have a serious Moomin problem, which has been hushed up as they are thought to have escaped from a secret experimental military installation.
