and only allowed machines on by mac address, that seems to work...not sure how secure it will be though

Seems fairly secure

although a techy mate has a device for reading wireless networks and reckoned he could have us cracked in a couple of hours.
If there's anyone out there with the time and knowledge, most wireless networks can be cracked, but ours is secure to the casual user

I've got all my flatmates on a wireless network through my broadband, and i haven't a fucking clue how to secure it.

But i have a seperate wireless transmitter plugged into the router. i can't access it on the network to access any of the security stuffs. I really should get it sorted!

from the machines connecting wirelessly. That's the address you need to point your browser at to configure your wireless access point. Probably.
