# I got to swim with a gigantic bull frog today
little bugger found his way into our pool and was in need of rescue.

# Frogs are just fucking cool.
I have a toad that comes up on the walk. He's a fat one, too! My cat goes out to play with him, rolls around on the sidewalk in front of him, and pats him on the head.

She picked him up in her mouth once, which made her throw up.

# sweet toad
My lifetime seemed to coincide with the death of all the cool wild life around here. I remember painted turtles, crayfish, newts, salamanders, toads, snakes of all varieties, box turtles...all of 'em vanished by the time I hit 12.

It warms the cockles of my heart to still run into the occasional frog or fox.

# Did you stop playing in the woods?
Frogs have been around for a damn long time. When they start to disappear, something in the environment is severely fucked up.

# nope, I think it's just the over-development that did it
hanging out with my childhood best friend was kind of like have Huckleberry Finn as your best mate. We were always playing in the woods/creek.

I still see some cool snakes and frogs and stuff in the one really big park in our area.

edit: I've heard that too, but with turtles. The frogs aren't really doing too bad around here, I fish at least four out of our pool every summer and the ponds around here are always lousy with them. The turtles have kind of disappeared.

# I had two conditions for our house.
1.) A full basement.
2.) Woods.

I managed to get both. I've seen all kinds of stuff in my yard (a lot of which I haven't caught on camera). There have been oppossums, raccoons, and foxes, as well.
