# This is exactly what I'm on about.
'MAKE IT SMALLER YOU CUNT!' isn't exactly constructive.

# is that what i said?
no. no it isn't.

has this person even taken any notice and done something about it? no.

so, if you want to run around after n00bs making thier images smaller for them so that they don't bother learning how to, go for it.

# No, sorry, you didn't say CUNT.
Excuse me for not typing out your exact message, but I grow weary of an argument when I have to keep restating my point in different ways before the opposition can actually pay attention to it.

Would it really take 5 seconds out of your day to be polite to people, instead of calling them knobends? If you're really lazy, you could always have a little message with links in a word document, which you can copy+paste. The point is "That's too big for the board, try these tips to optimise it: XXXXXX" is much better than "knobber".

# have you ever seen me post before?
obviously not.

if you hung around here often enough then you would realise why some of us are so hostile to people who don't pay attention to the rules.

it's not that people are ignoring your point of view, it's that we don't agree with it.

if you ever get spare time then feel free to look back through some more of my posts where you will see that i have previously made images smaller for n00bs, been polite, directed them to the FAQ, and it just doesn't work.

okay?

# I got your point, and it is a valid one, but
People *are* pretty civilized here, at least
during the day.

I've very nicely explained to many posters
how they could optimise their post by using
a GIF. I've almost universally been ignored.

Personally, I don't think something like this
is destroying the community. I got badly
razzed early on for posting something quite
glasscock. It didn't make me run away in tears,
but it did make me a lot more careful.

Like I said in another post, b3ta is a community,
a collection of people, in essence, a society.
Like all human institutions, it is far from
perfect. But by trying to tell people what
is 'polite' behaviour, are you so much better
than someone who is trying to tell someone else
to follow the accepted rules of the community?
