# back Dixon! Back!!!!!!!!!
Dude, please replace your picture with this 36k optimised version

# HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Why?

# All kinds of this^

# to calm the board down
and because its fucking easy to make files this size that don't fuck over peoples dial up modems or restricted bandwidths!

Also, other people take the care and effort to do so, and seeing as this is such a nice, friendly community place, it's a good idea to encourage others to too. :)

# 115k IS SMALL.

Look, I realise everyone likes to get on their b3ta high horses, but seriously, I'm not changing it, partly because it's too much faff with my webspace, and partly because instead of saying something nice or ignoring it people are trying to make someone feel small. I've been here long enough to know the rules thank you.

hehe - indeed

# Mellow dude!
Our happy man is just being helpful in a typically non-bastard way; PLUS it's going to make your web space lighter! Yay! :-)

# I'm a girl btw.

also, when did it stop being 250k?
(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:55, archived)
# dudette then!
250kb for animations as a rule of thumb, 50kb for static stuff. If it it pains you yo optimize it simply host a thumbnail using the codz.

We're all curious folk here, and click on stuff..

:-)

(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:29, archived)
# you are perhaps the only person I would change it for....

(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:32, archived)
# Haha!
Dude, where's my bandwidth?
(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:32, archived)
# we've downloaded it now though
so you've just wasted 36k of my precious bandwidth, you despicable rotter
(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:36, archived)
# ah, but my battle was not with bandwidth
but for the valiant work that can be done in clean optimisation.
(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 21:41, archived)
# Ok, but shirley the only point to do that would be bandwidth?
I dunno, it could be smaller, but 100k isn't all that huge. 100k was a sensible limit 3-4 few years ago here when dial-up was more common, but with broadbeans being popular now there's less incentive to shave a few k here and there.

I don't disagree that if everyone did it things would be quicker though.
