# hmm... questions, eh?
threadjack:

here's an interesting one. over the christmas break, our work printer has decided to forget what letters are, and now converts:

f to I
K to .
p to S
a to D
s to V
y to \
W to :

and

N to 1

Everything else comes out correctly.

How cool is that? :o)

# glad you all like it...
I'm just getting a little fed up of debugging code with comments like:

// SSeciDl CDVe to denote end oI cDSDbilit\ liVt

oh joy! I hate working on a screen :o)

# I remember my chum's
keyboard going a bit screwy after he spilt something on it. From that moment onwards we type "hmne hmne" instead of "he he"
I had to actually leave the chat room as it was making me laugh till there were tears running down my face... which doesn't even happen from b3ta...

# as sad as this is
your printer is shifting the offending characters to one 29 letters earlier (in terms of ASCII, e.g. f to I is ASCII 102 to ASCII 73.)

why that would be though I dunno.

why did i post this?

# cool
so every character in this range is 29 out? (I hadn't thought to check that).

Groovy!

Now I guess I see which bit is common between all those characters... time to get my chart of ascii to binary out :o)
