# Can anyone who's around test this out
www.fnord.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ETrexDivX-5.avi
It's a Div-X 5 thing does it work on your computer? Do you know how to make it work? Is it any better/worse than a realaudio format? I know a lot of b3tans don't like realplayer on their system.
Go here www.fnord.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ for a realplayer version.

# it
played fine for me and I have no problem wither it be realoaudio or not...and i liked how et gave the dinosaur the finger :)

(edit) and call me a real real sad person but i`m sure the bit at the beginning where you can hear the `iii fear` bit is from powerthemes 90 and is off the dangerman remix...as that has exactly the same sound...

# It's taken from a track
beatboxsaboteurs_happydaze.mp3
Check out their website ( beatbox saboteurs . com or something maybe) for the full tune and many other great ones. I wouldn't be suprised if they mixed all sorts into it.

# Doesn't work for me.
I'm using linux. I know that linux can cope with divx, but I've always struggled to get AVIs to work reliably even under windows! I've tried to get linux to play them but had to give up.

Oddly, I normally can't stand realplayer, but it seems to behave itself fine on SuSe linux. Or it does for me anyway!

# realplayer is a smaller file
and a better quality. But I hate it too.
I'll always remember it from it's dirty sub-phone call begininnings in the mid-90's. First impressions last.

# very true
I only installed realplayer again because the BBC seem so keen on it, and was surprised to find out that it just gets on with it and doesn't seem to suck. But I think I'll always be biased against AVI formats!

Mplayer, methinks.

# Not as such
Netscape 7.01, Mac OS X. I get either a page full of gibberish, or a page that stays blank for a bit then closes.
Anyway - good morning to you and all other early risers. Life back to normal, kids back to school, and I have the house to myself again.

# Real Player is OK
It downloads and opens in RealOne Player.

# sorry, my pc is comlete shit...i got this:
Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)

Cannot play back the video stream: no suitable decompressor could be found. (Error=80040255)

I need to reformat again, but I haven't had the heart for it yet. *sigh* took realplayer off the hard disk along with a bunch of plug-ins that kept getting errors.. will there ever be trouble-free computing? Ahhh, but then what would we all do for fun frustration?

# div-x 5 should be downloadable
as a playing codec. I might try again tonight.
And change the 'punchline' while i'm at it.
Thanks.

# as i said, a complete shit pc
1999 NEC - a din-o-saur! but crap when we got it (and then too lately i have been completely hummus free, and normally i am only marginally good at keeping this piece of junk running... and the dear beloved husband is so clueless as to need help to cut and paste something, so... I get no help unless we pay thru the nose or i find a kind word in a message board somewhere ;)
