I took huge load of cardboard to go in the cardboard bin, but it had been taken away to be emptied and a fresh one had not been put in its place yet

"s'alright" - said the councilman "you can chuck it in with the normal rubbish"
He really didn't understand why I didn't want to do it. He thought he was doing me a favour.

I was trying to do him one really!
