it says you can't see, feel, hear, taste or smell anything :( which leads me to believe its game over. so does anyone know if i should have done something different earlier?
and no, you can't save it unfortunately. well, not the online one anyway.

as everybody's been saying, try and look a few time, ONE of your senses will vanish from the list after a few times, then u will be able to go a certain direction depending on which sense has gone (but I can't remember how they go..sorry) ... so try it out a few times - or just goto gamefaq.com and get the walkthrough.

It's something like "take towel off head". Just wait till you get to the Babel Fish! That kept me for hours

You need to look, or listen, taste, etc, three or four times, then the message changes, and you can now do one of the things you couldn't do before. This happens a lot, everytime you use the infinite improbability drive IIRC. It's a really really really really hard game. Took me something like seven years to finish, on and off.
