I looked at the machine and realised I had been hording software. Loads of stuff I never use, so I might as well wipe it all and start again. THat will be 240gig to format. I hope windows does not screw me, I really do.

It will be fun, I keep telling myself.

so far, 7 dvds of mp3s

I have decided to just delete all my stuff and start afresh. I will burn lots of files and "borrow" the software again. All the important stuff anyway.

Then I can have fun downloading lots of new games, instead of filling up my HD with lots of ones I don't play.

Oh and there is Visual Studio of course.

I am sure most people would benifit from a fresh start. Hording takes over your life.

I was looking

at my machine and there is just loads of crap I dl and never used. The fun part was getting it. I have promised myself I will be tidy next time. AND get rid of my stupid 10gig windows partition.

this time, try putting all the important stuff on other partitions than c:

makes format/reinstall a lot easier

and don't forget the service packs and the other patches

get an external hard drive

and periodically back up the entire internal hard drive.
I use a Western Digital MyBook Essential 250GB. I think it was about 65 quid. (they come in bigger sizes)
