Not sure it works like that :)

It'd be american soccer

# Their feet barely see the ball.
Can't we sue them for false advertising?

And then for wearing so much padding? Or at least mock them for it.

# Well in fairness, American footballers take a lot more of a hammering than rugby players do
The helmets are kind essential and pads just follow suit

# Pfft.
If they're allowed so much padding it should be all covered with four inch spikes to even it out.

# You need to campaign for the legalisation of rollerball.

# But they only take a hammering for half the time
The other half they're sitting under and air conditioner.

# yea lol, the 60 man squads are a bit of a pisstake sometimes

# rubbish
it's less brutal than rugby
and padding only makes the contacts heavier

# still beg to differ
Those receivers get crunched pretty much every ball and often by 2 or more guys. Rugby at least you go down on the run and have the option to pass it off

# It was an arms race, though:
the padding increased the impact players can cope with, so they can hit harder, so their opponents needed armour, which meant it harder to stop them, so the defence got more armour, so the offence needed more armour...

The style of the game has been changed by the armour and padding of the 20th Century. Look at what they were wearing in the 1920s - it's hardly more than a rugger scrum wears now.
