every report I have heard about Vista on a laptop suggets the lack of well developed drivers for oem peripherals makes even everyday use of normally stable sw a hit and miss afiar. On a well supported desktop with all major brand parts should be ok though.
Edit: if you are the sort of person to leave the laptop with al oem sw you'd also probably be ok. but that's just silly.

I really like to hear all the complaints about a new product before I buy it, but I can't imagine too many people writing angry blogs about how things are working as they should.
Really I just want to be able to play new games rather than sifting through the bargain bins like I currently do.
