one of the coolest thoughts i've ever had occured to me tonight.
you can experience pink floyd's dark side of the moon as an entire spectrum of light.
the beginning and end (silence before and after the heartbeat) are black or nonvisible light. once the sound begins each song has a different color it sounds like. it makes sense to think of a different color while each song is playing. or you can imagine the color each song sounds like. for me it is like this: speak to me: black, breathe:blue/green with yellow at the end., on the run: yellow green or orange, time: orange in the beginning, red in the middle, orange and yellow at the end, great gig in the sky: yellow in the beginning, white/grey in the middle, light blue at the end, money: dark green in the beginning, dark purple toward the back half, us and them: light purple/clear dark blue, any color you like: any color you like, literally, brain damage: light lime green, yellow at the end, eclipse: yellow/white, black at the end.
try this at home.

there is so much to the album, considering it is the best album ever made
EDIT*of course you've all heard the complete synchronization it has with the wizard of oz.

the art nowadays sucks. terribly. emo/punk rock album covers suck it hard.

you can imagine it to be anything you want.
today i also thought of it as being something someone heard or imagined. it starts out with their own heartbeat and then they start hearing or imagining an entire stream of consciousness. it flows so incredibly. then they it just ends and their heart is still beating. one of the most in depth times i think i've ever looked at the composition of the entire album from start to finish as a whole and how it all works together.

and, many of the lyrics describe the slow descent into drug abuse and prostitution by the cast.

Most post Syd is. They lost 'the beat'
