# Gonnery
Cool animation. I thought it was 250k limit though?

# Oh yeah.
Limits for animation are around 250 kb. Hmm, ok. I forgot. Or is it 400 kb? Someone clarify.

# 250 k

# So noobish. :(
Thanks. And what are the limits for normal images?
(, Mon 19 Mar 2007, 0:56, archived)
# 50k
i suggest reading the FAQ up there at the top before the Nazi party rise and berate you.

# Rgeardless of what some people might say
there are no 'limits' as such, however, for a normal still image, it probably doesn't have to be any bigger than 50KB.

You shouldn't post anything bigger than 250KB - even with super-fast broadband, the board would still be a pain in the ass if there were 30 megs worth of images to download on each refresh.

If you can't bring yourself to make your pictures or animations smaller, then post a thumbnail on the board and link to the full version.

It tells you all of this in the FAQ, which is linked on every page of b3ta at the top - see up there where it says FAQ? Try clicking it.

# and thus speaks (or types) a man to be listened too (or whatever)
for listening to his typing would be silly. wouldn't it?

# time and again
that 400k or 250k question comes up

where are people getting 400k from?
(the only mention of 400 in the faq is the 400px width guideline)
(, Mon 19 Mar 2007, 1:00, archived)
# The image uploader
allows images of up to 400KB.

# as was mentioned one afternoon the other week...
"who gives a fuck what you think, you haven't donated"
(was said about me)

# or perhaps
they have clicked the "no icon" option
(, Mon 19 Mar 2007, 1:19, archived)
# no, i'm a cheapskate
i will get round to it at some point
but only after no one's pointed out i haven't got an icon for a while
(, Mon 19 Mar 2007, 1:23, archived)
# No bigger than 250KB please.
It does tell you in the FAQ you know - it's linked to from the top of the page.

If the joke is funny, then taking out a few frames and reducing the colours is not going to spoil it.

# ..and if it's not, it won't hurt either.
