Best bet is to do a small version for the board and do a clicky link to the big version.
And if it doesn't get frontpaged, then tough. We have all had some fantastic masterpieces callously ignored, but that's just the way of the board.

im disappointed by the level of a lot of front page stuff, when ive seen a lot of stuff not front paged (including my own! :( ) that in my opinion is better. (but im biased towards my own work too, so sue me.)

You can usually get away with posting it in response to a picture that is similar to yours, so that you are not using a new thread and still paying homage to the lovely new picture someone has posted. Otherwise a link is more acceptable, but still, don't use new threads for this. It will make people angry and they will abuse you to the great amusement of all.
