
Its not tracing. Its only tracing if youer using the pen tool to trace something. Which is just what everyone does, and calls it a vector, which is technically right, but just not an accurate representation of a vector, since vectors dont describe the picture, just the way it was created.

People open tattyshop and proceed to create paths with the pen tool. Then they fil and or stroke those paths. They post the image here and call it a vector. It's never been a vector unless all the paths and shapes are saved for future scaling and altering.
Most of the images here are simply traced images of photographs using a path to define where to fill the colour and nothing more.
