Psychoaccoustics is the study of human audio.
Combe filtering is the effect that allows a person to detect the direction of a sound. Not how loud the sound is in each ear (as most people think), but the delay between the sound arriving in each ear and the delay of it travelling though the head to the opposite counterpart.
