# Hey there Lucy welcome aboard
Painshop pro can be found here its a bit of a download (31meg ) but you can find older versions. People who do some of this art stuff also use PhotoShop, Photoshop elements(cheaper PS option), Illustrator?, FireWorks, Flash, Corel? The last few have try outs i think but most people seem to use Photoshop ! Hope that helps. You will also need somewhere to upload your pics to :)

# my advice would be to download one of those
Paint shop pro is easy to get hold of and pretty powerful. Then play.
Layers are great, the clone brush is your friend. And reoutching smoothness is a god-send. Hooray.

# Photoshop is my friend because..
.... of the wonderful 'Magnetic Lasso Tool', makes life so much easier!

# yup ...'photoshop is my friend'
i like the way that sounds.
i havent tried paintshop pro since version 5 and its now 7 so i dont know how much its advanced, but it is the cheapest alternative to PS although PS elements is a quite cheap like £70 or something alternative to PS itself !

# Yup Elements does the biz
It has outrageously useful ,magnetic lasso, aswell as ayers, save for web optimizing your jpegs and gifs and history palette. Basically its Photoshop with the obscure or heavy duty pre-press stuff left out.

# You could also..
just use Microsoft paint like I do. The quality is a bit lower. The other programs cost like $300+ dollars.
