and besides, hide is for something you find personally offensive
NSFW is an actually B3ta rule, i shouldn't have to
go out of my way to avoid something not allowed on the board

It is a rule, yes, but until a mod comes and removes it (which hasn't happened yet...), wouldn't it just be sensible to click hide?

even if i do click "hide" i'd still have to scroll past the NSFW
image in the first place, the rule is there for a reason
i don't want it on my screen, and if it was just
me over reacting to say a rape joke i found offensive
because i was raped by the cast of Cats, then yes, i'd click hide
but out of principle i wont be clicking hide on NSFW
imagine if i did, imagine if we all posted porn and just said, fuck it, if
you don't like it hide it, this board would go to shit

The mods are here to police the site. If an image is NSFW in their eyes, they will remove it. If you don't think they are doing their job, then feel free to moan at them too.
Of course, this all comes back to the old forum-saying of "If you don't like it, leave".
If you are afraid of seeing something NSFW, then don't come to a site which could feature it, whilst at work.
I'm sure there people out there, waiting for your to click on hide, just so they can go "Right, quick, he's clicked hide, post all your NSFW images now!".
The tools are there to avoid the images. If you want to view the site without using them, then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

we police ourselves mostly and if just one membersays that is NS for his workplace then arguing will just cause a row. It's polite to link things if asked.

Will the magical fairies take it away? No.
Then it would be up to the person who could lose his job to take matters into his (or her) own hands. Not bitch about it and keep coming back to the thread to bitch more. Just move on.

until the offender realises that he'd better change it.Nobody should have to have anything remotely NSFW on their screens even for a second. Simply saying "fuck you, it does not bother me so if you don't like it don't look" is selfish.

i blame Occulus
and i wasn't looking for a fight untill you goaded me with your don't like it hide it philosophy.
i've been here years, and we police ourselves,
yes there's mods, but they have more important things to do
like keeping the site running, i wont be bothering them
so to cease an end to the "argument" i'll just click ignore on the both of you
