
Explaining how you did it... you tried starting from scratch without a source picture.???

Was just wondering why you don't start from scratch...??... you obviously know your way around photoshop well enough and have the talent to be able to do so .......I posted the pic above to show you can get similar results from starting from scratch and just wondered why you didn't just creat your own starting pictures before you started to manipulate them...???

Lazy I guess.
Also, the photos I choose have an organic/metallic/? quality that inspires me.
(They're not that similar)

you can see bits of what might have been structure (ie: original image) in what looks at first like a picture made from scratch.
that's maybe why 1 is better than 2 or 3. 2 is too complex (too much of the original), while 3 is too simple (no obvious hidden structure).
1 is goldilocks.
